King of Fish In Alaska, the bridge, the river and the salmon all become part of the proof.

I have been fishing all season, but not only for the fish. I have been fishing for what the wild salmon symbolize—the Pacific Northwest’s natural splendor.

The catch matters. The landscape around the catch matters more.

The salmon is not merely the prize. It is the living emblem of the river system that made the moment possible.
