Where the desert shifts under the tyres, the dunes run to the sea, and every road seems to belong to a Toyota Land Cruiser.
Field Note 01
Dune bashing means driving at fast and slow speeds over sand dunes. Because the surface keeps shifting, it takes skill—and a proper 4x4—to navigate the terrain. There must be one great car salesman here in Qatar, because all the SUVs seem to be Toyota Land Cruisers.
