Going back in time in Mid-Wales

Today I found out The equal sign (“=”) was invented in 1557 by Welsh mathematician Robert Recorde, who was fed up with writing “is equal to” in his equations... but the hardest arithmetic  is counting your blessings.

 As every other bend in the winding roads here states: ‘Araf’ (slow down).

At the end of the 11th century the Normans extended their conquest of England into Wales and Pembroke Castle became the centre of Norman rule in South Pembrokeshire.
