Bahrain-Hump Day@Camellot

Hump Day at Bahrain's Royal Camel Farm in at Al Janabiya,

Bahrain, officially the Kingdom of Bahrain is a small island country situated near the western shores of the Persian Gulf.

We got there by car, from Al Khobar, over the King Faud Causeway; a series of bridges and causeways connecting Saudi Arabia with the island. It has that Key West-Island-Hopping- Feel to it, but not quite as spectacular as 7 mile causeway that links florida with The Keys.

We stopped by The Bahrain International Circuit, where they are gettingr eady for thsi weeks FIA World Endurace "6 Hours In Bahrain".

They don't have a Miss Universe Contest, but they have a Camel Beauty Pageant in the Gulf, one in ther UAE and also in Saudi. How do you jedge a Camels "hotness"- Both male and female camels participate in the pageant where a camel's beauty is assessed based on "the size of its head; whether its lips cover its teeth, the length of its neck and the roundness of its hump."

The  Arabian Peninsula has a huge cultural connection
with the camel, and for the Bedouins of the past, the camel was
revered as a sacred symbol of life amid the inhospitable desert.
This one got a little too close.
